Saint Joseph Village is a two-story federally subsidized apartment complex consisting of 40 one bedroom units.

Residents must be 62 years or older in good physical and mental health, able to care for themselves and their apartment without assistance and have an income recognized by the Department of Housing and Urban Development as very low.

The annual income recognized by HUD as very low for an individual is $25,650 and $29,300 for a couple. Income assests is included in computing annual income.

Applications processed in the order received. Persons already living in subsidized housing need a Reasonable Accommodation to apply.

To receive rent subsidy the Department of Housing and Urban Development requires initial and annual certification. Verification of all sources of income and the value of all assets are needed to determine eligibility and the amount of subsidy.

Rent/Security Deposit
A resident pays 30% of his/her income for rent. A Security Deposit equal to one month's rent is required before occupancy.

The initial lease is for one year. After the first year the lease can be terminated by the Village or Resident within thirty days written notice.

Each resident is responsible for paying his/her utilities. The stove, refrigerator, heat and air conditioning are electric.

All apartments have wall-to-wall carpeting. There are coin-operated laundries and trash chutes on all floors except the first. The elevator is easily accessible. Closets in the apartment are the only available storage space. There is limited parking.

This is an equal housing project.
